Mission Valley Bank is highlighting the local nonprofit Carousel Ranch by helping promote the organization’s upcoming Heart of the West fundraising event through the “Give Where You Live SCV” program.

The program features a variety of Santa Clarita nonprofits and encourages the community to join bank officials and “give where you live” to help support the organizations’ causes.
“There are a lot of really good charities in the Santa Clarita Valley who do a lot of good work for a lot of people and needs, and we believe that giving back is really an important thing to do,” said Marianne Cederlind, executive vice president and chief business banking officer at Mission Valley Bank, as well as board president at Carousel Ranch. “Highlighting what their needs are makes it more visible to the community at large.”

Carousel Ranch, which offers equestrian therapy for children with special needs and disabilities, is set to host the 20th annual Heart of the West event on August 27 featuring a dinner provided by Salt Creek Grille, auction and children’s demonstration.
“Somehow the connection, the bond between horse and human allows these children to be able to excel in areas that other traditional therapy just cannot touch,” said Teresa Todd, a member of Carousel Ranch’s board of directors. “At the event, guests will be able to actually see a children’s demonstration, and that’s probably the most heartwarming part of the evening.”
Last year’s event drew 600 guests, and organization officials are hoping for 650 attendees this year, according to Todd.
Following the dinner, auction and demonstration, Heart of the West After Dark is planned for the evening, which will include a band, entertainment, line dancing, casino activities and more.
“Our involvement with Carousel Ranch goes back many years when we helped them purchase the property where they now house the ranch,” Cederlind said. “We really enjoy highlighting various charities throughout the valley and are so happy to able to be involved in it.”
