The keynote speaker of the event is planned to be Michael Franzese, the son of the notorious underboss of New York’s violent and feared Colombo crime family, according to the event officials. He was a captain in the Colombo family and was featured on Fortune Magazine’s list of the “Fifty Most Wealthy and Powerful Mafia Bosses,” according to the National Geographic Channel “Inside the American Mob.”

Franzese uses his experiences of his former life to inspire people to beat the odds and make positive changes in their lives, according to the event officials.

Audiences are captivated by stories of his personal experiences in organized crime and genuinely affected by his powerful anti-crime messages and eye-opening revelations, according to the event officials.

Among the Santa Clarita Valley leaders invited to the event are: Congressman Steve Knight, R-Santa Clarita; Assemblyman Scott Wilk, R-Santa Clarita; county Supervisor Michael Antonovich; Sen. Fran Pavley, D-Calabasas; Santa Clarita Mayor Marsha McLean; and others.

  1. Unbelievable!

Is this guest speaker a Joke? He is the best guest speaker the City could find? There are lots of great business leaders, educators and highly regarded people in this town. Choosing him must be tied to a local political contribution, because it makes no sense to me.

You probably forgot to mention that were paying his speech fee too. I guess it really does pay to screw everyone to get what you want and laugh all the way to the bank!

  2. Is this an April 1 joke?

  3. Matt really, your ignorance abounds! Who is we? you are paying nothing! Its not a city event and yes him being here is very relivent. Its a PRAYER breakfast and he is going to reveal how prayer helped him. I usually dont respond to these BUT this was tooo good a gem too let go by
