Surfaces USA Owner and Interior Designer Jen Brown is co-chairing this year’s “Gentleman for a Cause” fundraiser benefiting Soroptimist International of Santa Clarita Valley.

Set for Sunday, March 6 at the Activity Center in Santa Clarita, the 40’s-themed event features dinner, entertainment, a cash bar and the chance to bid on professional services to help raise money for local charities.

“You get to bid on services from local businesses in the community,” Brown said. “The money goes to help so many different aspects. We empower women, young women, help them, guide them, and it’s such a great cause in general. It’s a really fun event.”

Surfaces USA is set to auction off a special package at the event, alongside SCV personal trainers, chiropractors, hairdressers and much more.

“I love giving back to the community that supports us,” Brown said. “They’re supporting my family by purchasing from us, and the least I can do is give back to the community around us.”

Brown first decided to become involved with Soroptimist International of SCV to help younger women and “show them the way.”

“I wanted to empower women, young women,” she said. “Especially being in a male-dominated field, it can be a struggle at times, so anything we can do to help the community be one and unify us.”
