The Harlem Globetrotters are scheduled to bring their tour to the Los Angeles area in February, according to a Harlem Globetrotters news release.

“Throughout their history, the original Harlem Globetrotters have showcased their iconic talents in 123 countries and territories on six continents, often breaking down cultural and societal barriers while providing fans with their first-ever basketball experience,” the news release said.

The Globetrotters are planning on blending basketball with entertainment in a signature style they have refined over several decades.

“The team’s upcoming performance will showcase the high-flying, fun, and memory-making moments that the Globetrotters are known for,” officials said. “The dribbling, the dunking and the shooting – don’t forget, they led all of basketball in 4-point shots made in 2017 – will all be on full display during the 2018 tour.”

The Globetrotters have a large collection of elite dunkers, including six players who have competed in the annual College Slam Dunk contest held during Final Four weekend, according to officials.

“The high-flying dunks do not end with the players, as 2018 will also mark the debut of the ‘Flying Globies’ – an amazing acrobatic trampoline dunk team, which will defy gravity during the game action with their exciting in-air stunts,” the news release said.

The Harlem Globetrotters represents all-star showmen like Big Easy Lofton, Hi-Lite Bruton, Ant Atkinson and Hammer Harrison, as well as Firefly Fisher, Bull Bullard, Thunder Law and Cheese Chisholm, the news release said.

“To match the growing popularity of the Globetrotters’ female stars, the team will feature four female players – the largest female roster in team history – including TNT Lister, Ace Jackson, Hoops Green and Torch George,” the news release said. “Additionally, the 2018 tour marks the return of the Globetrotters’ longtime nemesis, the Washington Generals.”

After a unsuccessful run, which saw the Generals lose over 14,000 times, a two-year hiatus is now over and the team is focus around one goal: to beat the Globetrotters.

Prior to the game, fans have an opportunity to interact with the Harlem Globetrotters Magic Pass, according to officials.

“This ticketed event allows fans an exclusive opportunity to interact with the team’s stars on the court, shoot hoops, learn tricks and pose for pictures,” the news release said. “After the game, Globetrotter stars will be on hand for additional autograph and photo opportunities.”

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
