The National Trail Runner Trophy Series is utilizing Santa Clarita’s “awesome trails and killer hill’s in an endurance trail running event with 10K, Half Marathon, and 50K Ultra distances,” according to organizers.

More than 500 participants from around the world — a dozen states and five international countries, officials said.

The trail run begins at 7 a.m. Saturday, March 25 at 29889 San Francisquito Canyon Road in Valencia. (Directions are available here.)

The 2017 Valencia Trail Race qualifies towards the 2017 Trail Runner Trophy Race Series.

Running and finishing any of the three distances; 10K, Half Marathon, or 50K Ultra will earn you points towards the annual series, according to organizers.

Aid stations will also be available for runners throughout the course with water, gel packs, salt tablets, and snacks, with a few key stations providing fruit, food, and basic first aid if needed.
