Repertory East Playhouse performs “Beyond Therapy”

As part of its “81 Series,” the Repertory East Playhouse will perform Christopher Durang’s comedy, “Beyond Therapy”, starting Friday, August 14.

“This is just what the doctor ordered,” stated REP Artistic Director Ovington Michael Owston. “Enjoy a glass of wine, and get ready to laugh, really hard.”

Exploring the awkward tension involved between new lovers, the play follows characters Bruce and Prudence as they attend absurd counseling sessions and learn how to live their lives beyond therapy.

“Offers the best therapy of all: guaranteed laughter.” Time Magazine writes.

The play will run on weekends through Saturday, August 29. Opening night will kick off at 7:00 p.m. with a wine reception sponsored by Engelmann Cellars.

After each Sunday performance, the cast and crew will lead post show discussions about the process of creating live theatre.
