The Boys & Girls Club of the Santa Clarita Valley is hosting their annual Festival of the Trees event at the Westfield Valencia Town center this holiday season, with special accommodations made to move the gala celebration online this year.

During the festival of trees, attendees are set to find “beautifully” designed themed Christmas trees and gingerbread houses, all of which are set to be auctioned off to a new home for the holidays to raise funds for the Boys & Girls Club, according to the organization.

This year’s Christmas trees range in size from 3-4-foot tabletop exhibits to 9-foot “masterpieces,” each one “meticulously” designed, ranging from the whimsical to the traditional, according to event organizers.

The one-of-a-kind gingerbread houses are sure to impress as each one invites attendees to a festive world of imagination and delight, according to the Boys and Girls Club.

“This year’s challenges have actually given us a new opportunity to share Festival of Trees with more people by moving the festival online.  We’re really excited how we are going to be bringing the holiday spirit to people who may not otherwise be able to participate,” said Matt Nelson, chief executive officer for the SCV Boys and Girls Club in a previous story.

All of the Christmas trees and gingerbread houses are created by volunteers who ask Santa Clarita residents to join in the holiday spirit, according to organizers.

The large trees; many of which come with gifts such as unique experiences, wine, furniture, jewelry and more; are open for bidding from Wednesday until the Magic of the Lights Gala on Friday, Nov. 20th, a virtual live auction, entertainment and holiday dinner experience, according to officials.

Tabletop trees and gingerbread house silent auction bidding will be open until the final day of the event next Tuesday, according to event organizers.

All bidding is expected to be done through a secure mobile bidding system.

Proceeds from the Festival of Trees are expected to help the Club provide memorable holidays to its members and support families into 2021, according to officials.

The work of Boys & Girls Club of Santa Clarita Valley continues in 2020, through their programs and services remotely, virtually and in-person, according to organizers.

This fall, the club is supporting local youth by providing in-person remote learning support, enrichment and social and emotional support while parents and guardians return to work, according to officials.

The Festival of Trees event is scheduled to take place at the Westfield Valencia Town Center mall near the food court from Wednesday, Nov. 18 through Tuesday, Nov. 24, according to event organizers.

Festival of Trees is set to operate in accordance with public health guidelines; including limiting the number of guests, requiring masks to be worn and practicing social distance, according to officials.  Additionally, reservation-only hours will be set aside.
