Robert Privott, 41, of Castaic, suffered a seizure at approximately 7:05 a.m. on Sunday, March 20 at the correctional facility, located at 29340 The Old Road, said Investigator Kelli Blanchard with the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.
He became unresponsive and was pronounced dead while being transported to the facility’s infirmary.
It was determined Privott died of natural causes from a form of cardiovascular disease, said Blanchard.
“There’s nothing suspicious about (the death),” said Detective Philip Guzman with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau at the time of the incident. “It’s not going to be a criminal case.”
Homicide detectives investigate all inmate deaths “even if they’re not suspicious,” said Guzman.
