Lacking Drivers License, People Still Hit The Road

Courtroom Sting Operation Results in Citations:

[view:node_ad=5]Deputies from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff Station's Traffic Office conducted a driver license enforcement operation at the Santa Clarita Valley Courthouse Monday.

The operation involved deputies monitoring court cases with individuals who had previously been cited or arrested for driving without a license or driving while their license was suspended. Four individuals, who opted to drive when they left the courthouse after they had been specifically instructed not to, were pulled over by deputies and cited. Their vehicles were also impounded for a period of 30 days.

Several of these enforcement operations are being conducted in Los Angeles County. This operation was just part of an aggressive D.U.I. enforcement and education program for contract cities which is being held throughout the State of California. Ongoing operations have included D.U.I. and driver license checkpoints, D.U.I. saturation patrol, D.U.I. warrant operations and educational programs at local high schools. Funding for this program was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The purpose of yesterday's operation was to send a clear message that driving while your driver license privileges are suspended, or driving without a license can have serious consequences. Especially if you are as brazen as these four individuals were in driving to, or from, the courthouse.
