Canyon Country youth detained by marshal after unlawful garage entry.

A 17-year old Canyon Country boy was arrested on burglary and weapons charges Tuesday night after being caught in a Keaton Street garage by the homeowner, who happened to be a U.S. Marshal.

The marshal recovered a knife, gloves and a mask from a backpack that the boy was carrying.  Deputies searched the boy's home nearby and recovered additional property that may be from residential burglaries in the neighborhood over the past three months. 

The youth was booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station on felony charges of burglary and possession of a deadly weapon.  He was later transported to Sylmar Juvenile Hall for housing pending future court proceedings.
