Two said they were here to back up friends.
Sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of a gang fight in Saugus Sunday night and arrested two combatants on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
Matthew Saylor, 21, and Tristan La Lone, 18 of La Crescenta told deputies they had come up to help a friend who was going to be in a fight in the 27000 Santa Clarita Road, according to Sgt. Byron Waynie.
Both were found to be in possession of deadly weapons (brass knuckles and a mini-billy club) and were booked at the Santa Clarita station. La Lone is being held in lieu of $20,000 bail; Saylor had an outstanding warrant from Glendale, boosting his bail to $55,000. Both are scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.
