2020 State Assembly Candidates To Appear Live On KHTS Radio

The two Republican candidates running for California State Assembly District 38 (AD-38), which represents the Santa Clarita Valley, are scheduled to appear live on KHTS Radio on Thursday.

On Thursday, Sept. 24, Republicans Suzette Valladares and Lucie Volotzky are scheduled to join KHTS live on-air for separate interviews as part of our ongoing 2020 election coverage.

The two candidates will be asked questions on a variety of topics, ranging from California’s approach to the COVID-19 pandemic to the wildfires engulfing the state.

Valladares is scheduled to start Thursday morning’s interviews at 10:05 a.m., with Volotzky appearing afterwards at 10:35 a.m.

The two Republican women are running for the assembly seat currently held by Assemblywoman Christy Smith, D-Santa Clarita, who decided not to run for re-election so that she could run for Congress against Congressman Mike Garcia, R-Santa Clarita.

Valladares and Volotzky came in first and second place respectively in the California primary back in March, making up a total of 52.9 percent of the vote total, according to officials with the California Department of State.

Valladares received roughly 33 percent of the vote with 23,454, while Volotzky received 19.3 percent of the vote with 13,698.

The interviews will be broadcast live on 98.1 FM and AM 1220, as well as the KHTS Radio Facebook page.

While the interviews are set to last between 20-25 minutes, KHTS wants to give residents an opportunity to ask questions of their own to the candidates. Residents can email their questions to newstip@hometownstation.com with the subject line “KHTS Assembly Candidate Questions” for a chance to have their question asked live on-air.

  1. A hard choice between 2 decent Republicans! We need more history/info. Either one that wins will be a good choice because their decent Republicans! They won’t put up with the riots/burning/looting/violence/BLMs/graffiti, etc.!

  2. Got my vote, Suzette!! ??
