The race continues as Santa Clarita City Council is set to choose its newest councilmember at a special meeting next Tuesday.

After last Friday’s deadline to apply for the vacant seat, the city saw 50 applicants, some of which include applicants who applied in November or past races.

The City Council seat was made available after Dante Acosta was elected to the California state Assembly in November’s elections.

With four remaining interviews scheduled, KHTS AM-1220 is continuing to invite all of the candidates on air for a brief interview about some of the topics facing Santa Clarita City Council, which is also being live broadcast to the KHTS Facebook page.
