On Wednesday, Vice President Kamala Harris conceded the 2024 election to former President Donald Trump, making him once again the next leader of the United States.
Republican Trump beat the democratic Harris after earning more than 270 electoral votes, confirmed around 3 a.m. Tuesday, according to officials.
“This was, I believe, the greatest political movement of all time. There’s never been anything like this in this country, and maybe beyond. And now it’s going to reach a new level of importance because we’re going to help our country heal,” said Trump in a Fox News article.
Trump is scheduled to take the presidency on Monday, Jan. 20, 2025, when he is set to take the oath of office and officially become the president.
“My heart is full today, full of gratitude for the trust you have placed in me, full of love for our country and full of resolve,” Harris said during her concession speech. “The outcome of this election is not what we wanted, not what we fought for, not what we voted for, but hear me when I say the light of America’s promise will always burn bright as long as we never give up and as long as we keep fighting.”
Updates to California races are expected through the rest of the month, with finalized results by Dec. 5. The Secretary of State will certify the statewide results on Dec.13, 2024.

I think we all can move on agreeing that the election process is fair and the system is not broken. This country is capable of having elections that aren’t tampered with and we can accept the results. I hope if anything this latest election proved that.
