Congressman Mike Garcia (R-Santa Clarita) applauded the House passage of the Honoring Our PACT Act on Thursday.
On Thursday, Garcia commented on the recent passage of the Honoring Our PACT Act, a bill that is expected to improve healthcare options for veterans.
“I’ll always be a steadfast supporter of our servicemembers, while they serve and after their time in the military. Too many veterans suffer lifelong consequences from being exposed to toxic chemicals while serving our country,” Garcia said.
Garcia was one of 123 Republicans that crossed party lines to vote in favor of the legislation, which is expected to allow the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to improve health care accessibility and benefits to veterans suffering from disabilities related to toxic chemical exposure, said officials.
“I am pleased this critical legislation passed the House and I will continue my work in Congress to ensure our veterans receive quality health care. Support for our patriots cannot stop after they return home and turn in their uniform,” Garcia said.
A former U.S. Navy fighter pilot, Garcia has been a supporter of servicemembers since his election, passing legislation to help both active and former members of our nation’s military.
