A Canyon Country gas main break on Friday evening led evacuation in Parklane Estates after a vehicle ran into a gas meter, officials said.

Around 7:15 p.m. Friday, emergency responders received reports of a vehicle that crashed into a gas meter in the Parklane Estates community on the 20400 block of Soledad Canyon Road in Canyon Country, according to Supervisor Rangel with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
“(The) call came in as a vehicle into a mobile home… (there was) no vehicle into structure, it was a vehicle into a gas main,” said Rangel. “Gas company is responding.”
The residents in the surrounding area have been evacuated for the duration of the incident as of 7:45 p.m. Friday.
Witnesses on scene noted a strong odor of natural gas in the area.
No injuries were reported due to the incident, according to the Fire Captain of Station 128.
