“A mom was loading her toddler into her car seat when she noticed a woman walking circles around her car and staring at her,” according to the viral post that has been shared almost 2,000 times. “After buckling her daughter in, the mom quickly ran to the other side of her car to get in and lock the doors. As she locked the doors, this strange woman who had been circling her was now right up against the window where her child was in her car seat and was grabbing/jiggling the door handles.”

The mom made an attempt to leave; however, the woman stood behind the vehicle, preventing her from leaving.

Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s deputies have been following this story since the beginning.

“We’ve been following this since it began,” said Sgt. Dan Dantice with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station. “This story has been growing legs since it began and has been getting bigger.”

The social media post goes on to say that Sheriff’s deputies were called to the scene to take a report; however, Sheriff’s officials say differently.

“We did not respond to this incident,” Dantice said.

Deputies have received an image of the woman described in the social media post, and know the person’s identity.

“She has been living in Santa Clarita for years,” Dantice said. “She is homeless and lives in her car, but takes care of herself. She has no criminal record.”

Dantice is the sergeant in charge of the Crime Prevention Unit, a specialized team of deputies assigned to different zones in Santa Clarita.

Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s officials are asking residents not to call the station if they spot the woman because she is not currently wanted for any crime.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
