The Electrolux Refrigerator brand has recalled its Frigidaire and Electrolux refrigerators due to a choking hazard from the ice maker. 

The Frigidaire and Electrolux Side-by-Side, Top Freezer and Multi-door refrigerators have been recalled due to the discovery that the ice level detector arm in the ice maker can break into pieces and fall into the ice bucket. 

These pieces in the ice pose a choking hazard, according to officials.

The company recommends fully replacing the unit, calling for the 367,500 units sold in the U.S. to be replaced. The units were sold from Lowe’s, Home Depot and appliance stores nationwide and online at Frigidaire.com from April 2020 through March 2022 for between $1,200 and $4,300. 

About 7,180 were sold in Canada, according to officials. 

Electrolux has received 185 reports of the ice level detectors breaking, including one report of gum lacerations.

The report for the recall was put out on June 2, 2022.
