Kraft Heinz Company Issues Recall Of Capri Sun For Possibly Containing Cleaning Solution

Over 5,700 cases of Capri Sun Wild Cherry were voluntarily recalled after the company received a large volume of consumer complaints.

The Kraft Heinz Company issued a voluntary recall last week of its Capri Sun Wild Cherry Flavor Juice Drink Blend after discovering that a cleaning solution used in the same factory may have been introduced to the beverage, according to a statement on the company’s website.

After the company received a number of complaints from consumers about the taste of the product, an investigation followed that ultimately yielded the discovery that a diluted cleaning product used on the food processing equipment was inadvertently introduced into a production line at one of its factories.

The company states that only the “Wild Cherry Flavor” Capri Sun listed with an expiration date of June 25, 2023 was affected, and that consumers should not consume the product and instead return it to the retailer where it was purchased from.

“The Company is actively working with retail partners and distributors to remove potentially impacted product from circulation,” the company said in a statement.

Consumers can contact Kraft Heinz from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. EST, Monday through Friday, at 1-800-280-8252 to see if a product is part of the recall and to receive reimbursement.
