UPDATE: ‘Strong Odor’ At Audi Dealership In Valencia Determined To Be Sewage

UPDATE: A “strong odor” at the Valencia Audi dealership that prompted a response from firefighters Thursday morning was determined to be sewage.

Around 10:30 a.m. Thursday, firefighters responded to a hazmat response at the Audi dealership in the 23900 block of Creekside Road in Valencia, said Jonathan Torres, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Units on scene confirmed there was a “strong odor” inside the building, according to initial reports.

Specialists with the L.A. County Fire Department’s Hazmat team made entry to investigate the odor, according to Captain Damon Wafer of Hazmat 150.

“We always want to assume that it  could be something toxic, and once we get inside with what our monitors are reading, it’ll give us specifics on exactly  what it is, we can figure out how to shut it down, how to stop the leak.”

Paramedics assessed at least three patients who stated they experienced light headedness due to the odor.

“Once they got into fresh air, the symptoms subsided,” Capt. Wafer said.

After a  thorough investigation by the Hazmat crews, the “strong odor” was determined to be fumes coming from sewage pipes that Los Angeles County Public Works were maintaining.

Nearby businesses were cleared to resume normal operations.

  1. Go to Jimmy Deans on The Old Rd. and Rye Cny. parking lot. LA Indian parking lot in Castaic which has always been that way with different restaurants and there is a bad sewage smell.

  2. Haven’t you ever noticed that the whole town has a sewage smell. Go over to the shopping center where Whole Foods is or around the mall. Stinks to high heaven. Has.for at 15 years.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
