Valencia Chick-fil-A announced Sunday that the location would be closing on Thursday, Jan. 9 for renovations and would not be reopening for nearly two months.
On Thursday, the restaurant is scheduled to close at 4 p.m. and remain closed until construction has been completed, which is projected to take approximately seven weeks until early March 2020
Valencia Chick-fil-A officials stated that they would be renovating the kitchen to expand capacity and increase efficiency in a Sunday Facebook post.
“While we have been planning this project for some time, the scheduling and duration of it has been uncertain,” read the Sunday statement. “Now that we are certain when it will begin, we are sharing this information with you, our community. We realize it is short notice, but that could not be avoided.”
Potential guests were warned that in the face of the upcoming closure, that inventory would not be replenished for many items in order to prevent unneeded waste and promote food safety, officials said.
In the meantime, Santa Clarita guests are encouraged to pay attention to social media to see construction updates.

Where have I heard this before? A business announces they are “closing” for renovations and/or remodeling and never to be heard from ever again.
Ironically, this Chick-Fil-A location hasn’t been able to commit to a certain date to begin renovations, yet, they are now able to close on January 9, 2020 – after all the kids go back to school and the busy holiday period is over – when sales volume drops like a rock?
I’ve been a retail slut for too long that I don’t believe their story. To me, Chick-Fil–A is closing up shop due to rising costs (lease, increase in minimum wage and onerous California regulations).
If you re-read the release, nowhere does it mention the impacted employees, are they being paid or offered hours at other Chick-Fil-A locations? The Northridge Chick-Fil-A is a long distance for a fast food job.
This just doesn’t add up. Case in point. The McDonald’s on Hamburger Hill in Stevenson Ranch recently closed it’s dining room for a couple of months, yet their drive thru remained open, and they employees working.
Why can’t Chick-Fil-A keep their drive thru open?
Very strange.

Could we please re-read your post?
That store did $10,000,000+ in sales in 2019. They are not going anywhere. Oh, did I mention I work there? Enough with the nonsensical conspiracy theories. See you all in March.
This must be the most ignorant “theory” I’ve ever heard! Businesses have to make sound decisions. I am sure all their employees are getting some form of compensation that was built into the cost of the remodel. I also am sure the Owner of this franchise is no idiot, unlike the above. Your “theory” makes no sense.
If you are this pressed about a Chick-Fil-A closing to remodel, I suggest you seek help.
Absurd!

Thank you.
Sounds like they are making a sound business decision to renovate when the demand is low.
Also the cannot supply a drive through without a kitchen.
They are going nowhere. They are a cash cow. They need to increase efficiency and capacity in their kitchen because the lines are interfering with traffic. No kitchen – means they can’t operate a drive-thru. There was a recent moratorium on drive-thrus due to impact on traffic. This location and the In-n-Out on Bouquet are the worst offenders.
But go on Sunday — the lines are shorter.
No big loss
Please come back to us chicken filet, we need your nom noms!
The line at this location competes with that of an In-N-Out burger. There is no way this location is closing its doors…
I too am curious as to what will happen with the employees in the meantime.
Looks like I have to go to Popeye’s for the next two months if I want a chicken sandwich…
I wish they would open a store in East Canyon Country!! Voted #1 fast food in 2019, and they’ve had the decency to close on Sun., the Sabbath, faith before greed, a day of rest & for families!
Has anyone else heard Chick-fil-A Is opening where Boston Market used to be?
I thought that too. But I dont think so. They need one in Canyon Country.
The mattress store next to Best Buy will be moving into that location.
I heard that the SCV is not approving drive through restaurants for the next few months to re-evaluate their policy. They named Chick-fil-A one that was a problem because the line is forever long and it narfs up the mall traffic. Maybe they are revising something within that realm? I’m certain this store isn’t going anywhere.
