Doctors have found that heart problems, dementia, and even alzheimer’s are related to hearing loss, according to a local hearing specialist.

When people start to have some degree of hearing loss, they stop going to the things they like to go to, said Santa Clarita audiologist Nola Aronson from Advanced Audiology.
Those people feel silly, or even stupid, Aronson said. They don’t want to go there anywhere because they don’t want to admit that they are having a problem, and then they become more and more isolated and they stop having fun in their lives.
“Communication is the universal solvent, if you can’t communicate with somebody, you’re left out,” Aronson said.
It’s very easy to fix the problem and nobody even knows that you are wearing a hearing aid these days because they are so small, Aronson said.
“The devices are tiny, we even have them in all different colors to match your hair,” Aronson said. “Many people wouldn’t even notice that you are wearing a hearing aid.”
A newer hearing aid offers conveniences other than just helping you hear.
You can transform your hearing aid into your own personal headset, Aronson said, you can answer your cell phone, and listen to your music through the device.
Hearing loss is the third most prevalent problem in the United States, Aronson said. So people should be checked out early and often.
“Many people are amazed at the options that we have available,” Aronson said.

Patients are treated as family and we pride ourselves on excellent listening skills. Our motto is “Give People More Than They Expect.” Our group of audiologists (with over 60 years of combined experience) provide each person with a unique solution to achieve the goal of improved quality of life through better hearing. In a recent survey of 100 doctors and patients, it was reported: The office is knowledgeable, friendly, trustworthy and honest. They educate first and give you solutions not a sales pitch.
Our experience in fitting hearing aids is what sets us apart. The owner, Nola Aronson, has been fitting hearing aids for 31 years. She has had to adjust hearing aids using a screw driver, so she understands how they work.
