Santa Clarita Sports Report – December 2, 2015

Santa Clarita sports report, December 2, 2015. This is your place for Santa Clarita’s winter 2015/16 sports. Find all the latest news and updates on your hometown schools here as they compete in the Western State Conference, Foothill League, Heritage League and GSAC.

From everyone at KHTS AM-1220, our thoughts and prayers are with the great people of San Bernardino, CA.

Santa Clarita High School Volleyball

The third time around was about as unpleasant as could possibly be for SCCS, swept by Upland Christian in straight sets to bow out of the California Division 5 Semi-Finals. Congratulations to the Cardinals on another excellent run.

Santa Clarita High School Basketball

Two straight Burbank Tournament victories has the Golden Valley Grizzlies (2-1) advancing to play Glendale Thursday and Village Christian on Friday. The Grizzlies took care of business against Quartz Hill and Canoga Park earlier in the week.

After dropping last night’s contest to Santa Barbara, 60-34, Valencia hits the hard court again tonight for a tournament clash with Pioneer Valley. Tip-off is at 3 PM.

The Saugus Centurions open their season at Simi Valley tonight, tip-off is at 6:30 PM.

In the late game of the Rose City Roundball Classic, the West Ranch Wildcats (1-0) face off with Leuzinger at 8:00 PM.

Santa Clarita High School Soccer

No. 2 Hart dropped points after coughing up a 1-0 first half lead to Quartz Hill, ending in a 1-1 draw.

In today’s games, Valencia is on the road at Highland this afternoon for a 4:30 Kickoff, while West Ranch heads west to play Simi Valley at 6:45 PM.

Los Angeles Lakers

Someone better tell Kobe to stop jacking up three’s quickly, or he’s going to see his career .450 shooting percentage drop under that elite number.

The Lakers lost to the worst team in basketball last night, falling in Philly to the previously winless 76ers, 103-91. Even with one more wins (2) than their counterpart, it is fair to assume the Lakers now are the worst team in professional basketball.

KHTS AM-1220 is your place for the 2015 Foothill League basketball season and the Santa Clarita sports report. If you have any news and notes about our teams to share please send them to [email protected] and follow me @jallenpowell17 on Twitter.

Just a few months after getting his degree he moved to Valencia and started as an intern at AM-1220 KHTS, and was promoted to Sports Reporter within a year. Though Justin is still relatively new to the Santa Clarita Valley, he is an avid sports fan and passionate about building the sports department at KHTS into a special source for local high school sports.
