[view:node_ad=5]The Valencia Vikings softball team retired former pitcher Jordan Taylor’s number 17 during Saturday’s alumni game.  Taylor was last year’s California Gatorade Player of the Year, and is currently attending Michigan on a full scholarship.  Current Viking sophomore Madison Shipman also announced her intentions to play for the University of Tennessee, where Vikings senior Jessica Spigner will also attend college.

 

The Los Angeles Dodgers have signed catcher Gary Bennett to backup All-Star Russell Martin.  The deal is for one year.  Bennett was named in the Mitchell Steroid report, and has since admitted use of Human Growth Hormone to rehab from a knee injury.

 

No. 25 USC defeated Delaware State, 83-54, in the Trojans first game back in the top 25.

 

The Los Angeles Kings lost their fourth-straight game, 4-2, to visiting Colorado.  The Kings travel to NHL leading Detroit, live on KHTS at 4pm on Wednesday.
