MLB Postseason

Edwin Encarnacion was the hero Tuesday night, hitting a walk-off home run in the 11th inning to send the Toronto Blue Jays to the Divisional Round of the American League playoffs with a 5-2 victory over AL East-rival Baltimore.

Toronto will face Texas in the next round.

Tonight, the San Francisco Giants are in New York to face the Mets in the NL Wild Card. It will be Madison Bumgarner versus Noah Syndergaard with first pitch coming at 5 pm.

Los Angeles Lakers

The Lakers opened preseason play last night in Anaheim with a 103-84 win over the Sacramento Kings. Tarik Black led the way for the Lakers with 15 points off the bench.

No. 2 overall pick Brandon Ingram played 27 minutes as a sub but did not score a field goal, finishing with two points, two blocks and two rebounds.

The Lakers next play Friday at Staples Center against the Denver Nuggets.
