Trinity picked up a big win Thursday night at College of the Canyons, ahead of next week’s showdown against rival Santa Clarita Christian in the annual “Faith Bowl”. The Knights (2-2) have outscored their opponents 48-6 in the last two games.

Santa Clarita High School Volleyball

Santa Clarita Christian moved to 8-2 on the season with a 3-0 sweep over Palmdale Aerospace Academy. Next week will be a bye week as SCCS prepares to face Trinity Classical Academy in the rivalry game on Tuesday, October 3rd.

COC Football

The Cougars look to rebound from last week’s home loss to No. 1 Fullerton with Saturday night’s showdown against Long Beach at Cougar Stadium.

The trend for this team so far has been high scoring affairs; COC is averaging 33.3 points per game while allowing 28.7. Chances are, it’ll be another shootout this week, with the Long Beach Vikings averaging a staggering 49.7 points in their first three games.

Kickoff from Cougar Stadium is scheduled for 6:00.

Los Angeles Dodgers

The Dodgers gutted out a 5-4 win in yesterday’s series-closing matinee in Philadelphia to end the ten game road trip with a 5-5 record.

Los Angeles is back at Chavez Ravine for a weekend series against the San Francisco Giants. They’ll send Rich Hill to the mound to face Jeff Samardzija. First pitch is at 7:10, and be sure to tune in to the High School Football Game of the Week broadcast for updates from Dodger Stadium.
