Saugus Lacrosse’s Gavin Pantelidis, Lone SCV Player Named To All CIF-SS Team

The 2026 All CIF-SS boys lacrosse team has been released, with Saugus sophomore Gavin Pantelidis being the only Santa Clarita player to make the cut.

Pantelidis had a breakout season as a freshman a year ago and during his sophomore campaign, continued to build off that momentum.

During the season, Pantelidis tallied 84 goals, the third-most in all of California, averaging 4 goals per game.

On the season, he also had 29 takeaways, 36 assists, and 120 points.

The midfielder helped lead Saugus to the Division 2 CIF-SS quarterfinals, where they’d fall to the eventual champions, Mira Costa.

“As a freshman, he had a lot of success scoring goals,” said Saugus Head Coach Josh Ireland in a previous interview. “This year, he would typically get matched against some of the top defenders in our area.”

Ireland noted that most teams focused their game plan of limiting Pantelidis and played him physically.

“Gavin had to adapt his play style and support his teammates. He elevated our level of play with some fantastic assists,” said Ireland. “Early in the season, he developed a much more aggressive mindset and asked to play a lot more defense. He saw it as an opportunity to turn the field and create more offense.”
