The four-day Reason for the Season Tournament, hosted by Trinity Classical Academy, concluded Tuesday, showcasing competitive basketball from teams across Southern California.

The Reason for the Season Tournament culminated with West Ranch and Granada Hills girls programs claiming championship victories in the Silver and Gold Divisions, respectively, at the Newhall Church of the Nazarene.

In the Silver Division Championship, the West Ranch Wildcats edged out the Burbank Bulldogs 57-55 in a thrilling contest. Maia Garrison led the Wildcats with 19 points, while Burbank’s Manina Tuputupu posted a game-high 28 points in a losing effort.

West Ranch’s path to the championship was marked by commanding wins, starting with a 58-38 victory over Milken, followed by a dominant 62-13 rout of Palmdale Academy Charter School. In the semi-finals, the Wildcats overpowered Simi Valley 56-23, setting the stage for their narrow victory over Burbank.
