Canyon Country Brush Fire Quickly Put Out

A small brush fire in Canyon Country was extinguished Friday night.

 

BREAKING: A small spot fire has been reported in the brush near Whites Canyon road and Soledad Canyon road in Canyon Country.

Just before 6 p.m. a small brush fire was reported near the intersection of Whites Canyon Road and Soledad Canyon Road, according to Supervisor Cheryl Sims with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

“It was a small 5 by 5 foot spot,” Sims said. “They cancelled the assignment for everyone but one fire engine and kept one (other) for a small extension to a building.”

The building sitting in question is now vacant, according to the signs it sports. The level of damage done to the building was not apparent Friday night.

The cause of the fire was being investigated as of 6:20 p.m. Friday night.
