Firefighters Knock Down Canyon Country Mobile Home Fire In Eight Minutes

Firefighters made quick progress on a Canyon Country mobile home fire Tuesday evening, knocking the blaze down in less than ten minutes, officials said.

Around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, officials with the Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACoFD) received a report of a structure fire at an abandoned mobile home park at the 18200 block of Soledad Canyon Road, according to officials.

“First on scene engine declared there was a fully involved mobile home,” said Austin Bennett, a spokesperson for LACoFD.

Firefighters were able to knock down the blaze within eight minutes, Bennet said. However, despite the quick knock down of the fire, the blaze was visible enough to attract a crowd from nearby pedestrians.

“Everyone came in and were saying ‘There’s a fire outside,’” said Johnny Schwinn, who works at the nearby Drifters Cocktails. “I walked out, and just saw everyone staring on the corner.”

No injuries were reported, and the official cause of the fire was unknown as of Wednesday morning.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
