The Fisher Fire broke out near the 5 Freeway just north of Castaic Wednesday, prompting a response from firefighters.

The brush fire, dubbed the Fisher Fire, was first reported to firefighters around 12 p.m. on the southbound 5 Freeway near Templin Highway, said Franklin Lopez, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

“It is at a quarter acre,” Lopez said.

The fire is currently burning in light to medium fuels with no structures threatened, according to Fire officials.

The No. 3 and 4 lanes of southbound 5 Freeway are blocked due to the fire, according to officials.
