A Newhall structure fire broke out in a strip mall Sunday, officials said.

Around 5:35 p.m. Sunday, firefighters received reports of a commercial structure fire on the 24600 block of Arch Street In Newhall, according to Ed Pickett, a dispatch supervisor for the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

“It’s a single story strip mall, we have heavy smoke and fire coming from an office,” Pickett Said.

As of 5:55 p.m. the fire has been knocked down and crews were working to remove all residual smoke from the building, according to fire officials.

The cause of the fire is unknown as of the publication of this article, according to fire officials.
