Semi-Truck Catches Fire South Of Gorman

A semi-truck caught fire just south of Gorman Monday, snarling traffic on the 5 Freeway.

Around 11:30 a.m. Monday, firefighters received reports of a vehicle fire on the northbound 5 Freeway north of Smokey Bear Road near Gorman.

When units arrived on scene, they reported a fully involved semi-truck fire.

Crews were able to extinguish the flames and prevent the surrounding brush from igniting.

Northbound 5 Freeway traffic through Gorman was impacted by the fire.

No injuries were reported.

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes.
