The Oxnard HVAC service company Pacific Aire is now hiring installers, with no previous experience required for anyone in Santa Clarita and beyond with the right attitude, according to officials.

“One of the unique things about Pacific Aire (is) we have the ability to train people from the ground up, even those with no experience,” said Ozzie Garcia, operation supervisor.
Pacific Aire officials have a brand new 1,200-square-foot training facility specifically designed to give new hires with no experience all the tools they need to be successful at the job, according to Garcia.

The Ventura HVAC service company offers a multi-week training program that typically lasts from five to seven weeks, and features hands-on training, discussion of air conditioning and heating theories and even a makeshift attic to prepare trainees for entering a home.
While almost anyone can learn how to do the job, Garcia noted that finding candidates with the right attitude and personality are key during the hiring process.
“What we really look for is them as a person, their character,” Garcia said. “I can teach anybody how to turn a wrench or how to fix something. What I can’t teach is how to be trustworthy, how to have a great personality, how to connect with people — and that’s really what we look for.”
The ultimate goal of Pacific Aire staff is to leave no evidence they were ever present in their customers’ houses for maintenance or repairs, aside from making the home much more comfortable thanks to a properly functioning heating or air conditioning system, according to Garcia.
“We actually take a lot of pride in working in people’s homes — you have to have a lot of respect when you are in somebody else’s house,” he said, noting employees wear shoe covers and gloves, and put down plastic on carpet and cloth on tile.
In addition to serving Ventura County, Pacific Aire also works in Santa Barbara and Los Angeles Counties, including Santa Clarita, Camarillo, Simi Valley and Westlake.
“We’re always looking for good people,” Garcia said. “We created (putmeinorange.com) specifically to give people information who wanted to apply… So between that and being able to train anybody that comes in, our doors are always open for those who are willing and those who have a great attitude.”
