Crime Reports:
KHTS publishes crime reports in alphabetical order by community as they are made available.
Here are the crime reports for Canyon Country East, Canyon Country West, Castaic/ Val Verde, Newhall, Stevenson Ranch and Valencia.
Canyon Country East:
A residential burglary occurred near the 27500 block of Sierra Highway. In this incident the suspect(s) entered the location through a window and used the victims shower. There was nothing taken from the location.
A residential burglary was reported near the 28000 block of Sarabande Lane. The victim found his outside storage locker open. It appeared to have been pried open. Costume jewelry was taken from the storage unit.
A theft from a vehicle occurred near the 27600 block of Marta Lane. In this incident the suspect stole the victim’s purse from the vehicle. It is unknown if the vehicle was locked.
There was a theft from an unlocked vehicle reported near the 17900 block of Nearbrook Street. The victim left his doors unlocked and windows rolled down. The suspect stole a Galaxy tablet from the vehicle.
A robbery occurred near the 27500 block of Sierra Highway. Four male suspects approached an ice cream man and pulled a knife on the victim and demanded his money. The victim gave the suspect $30.00 cash and the suspects fled. One of the suspects was later arrested. This case is currently being investigated by detectives.
A shop lifting incident occurred at Kohls on Golden Valley Rd. The suspect concealed jewelry in her clothing then walked out of the store without paying for the items. Loss prevention detained the suspect pending the deputy’s arrival. The suspect was arrested for the theft.
Canyon Country West:
This past week in Zone 7, the following Part-1 Crimes occurred:
A grand theft occurred near the 19400 block of Bension Drive. Person(s) unknown entered a model home and stole 2 televisions from within. This incident is currently under investigation by Santa Clarita Valley Station detectives.
One suspect was arrested for grand theft near the intersection of Soledad Canyon Road and Luther Drive. A Deputy arrested one suspect for illegally being in possession of a laptop and diamond ring. This incident is currently under investigation by Santa Clarita Valley Station detectives.
A vehicle burglary occurred near the 28300 block of Hillfield Lane. Person(s) unknown shattered the victims passenger side front window and stole items from within. This incident is currently under investigation by Santa Clarita Valley Station detectives.
One suspect was arrested for shoplifting near the 19300 block of Soledad Canyon Road. This incident is currently under investigation by Santa Clarita Valley Station detectives.
Castaic/Val Verde:
The following crimes were reported in Zone 2, Castaic/Val Verde.
There were three separate part 1 crimes reported in the 28000 block of Industry Drive. A company reported a 2002 Chevy work truck stolen and driven approximately 40 feet before being abandoned due to a broken transmission. A second company reported an attempt theft of Ford work van. The vehicle ignition was unsuccessfully hotwired. The same company reported 20 gallons of diesel fuel taken from another vehicle. A third company in the same location had a rear metal door cut open. Suspects entered the location and crawled to an interior office to avoid motion detectors. The business reported nothing missing.
The Park’s Bureau reported a bicycle theft from Castaic Lake.
Newhall:
A look back at the crimes reported in the Newhall area last week.
On Friday the 26th, a male suspect started a fire inside a restroom in a business in the 24500 block of Lyons Avenue. The suspect fled the location in a vehicle. The case is being investigated by LASD Arson Detectives.
On Wednesday the 24th, a 19 year old female was arrested in the 23400 block of Newhall Avenue for assaulting a family member with a knife.
On Sunday the 28th, a juvenile was arrested on Walnut Street after he assaulted family member with a lamp.
On Tuesday the 23rd, between 5:30 a.m. and 6:30 a.m., a garage was burglarized at 24400 block of Valle Del Oro. A neighbor witnessed the crime and reported it. Two people have been arrested for a separate crime and investigators are determining if they were also involved in the garage break-in.
Between Monday the 22nd, and Tuesday the 23rd, a burglary occurred in the 21200 block of Ficus Drive. A door was pried open and electronics were stolen.
In the early morning hours of Wednesday the 24th, a vehicle was burglarized on Valle Del Oro. A window was smashed and a backpack was stolen.
On Thursday the 25th, between 6:15 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., a catalytic converter was stolen from a vehicle while it was parked in parking lot in the 24300 block of Railroad Avenue.
Two vehicles were reported stolen last week. On Tuesday the 22nd, a silver 1997 “BMW” was reported stolen from Arcadia Street. On Saturday the 27th, a 1997 “Chevy” Silverado pickup was reported stolen from a parking lot near Newhall Avenue and Sierra Highway. Both vehicles are still outstanding.
On Friday the 26th, a lady’s wallet was stolen from her purse while she was shopping in the 24100 block of Lyons Avenue. Her credit card was later used at different business.
Stevenson Ranch:
Last week, the following Part 1 crime occurred in Zone 3 Stevenson Ranch:
A petty theft occurred near the 26400 block of Brooks Circle. A men’s ring was taken from a master bedroom jewelry box during an open house for the residence.
A petty theft occurred near the 25900 block of The Old Road. The victim left a cell phone unattended on a counter at the location and upon returning, the phone was gone.
A petty theft/shoplift occurred near the 25400 block of The Old Road. A male suspect was detained by loss prevention personnel after exiting the location, failing to pay for items. The suspect was arrested by responding Santa Clarita Station deputies.
A shoplift/burglary occurred near the 25600 block The Old Road. Two female and one male suspect exited the location with several purses. The suspects fled in an awaiting 2010 four door Chevrolet.
A petty theft/shoplift occurred near the 24900 block of Pico Canyon Road. An unknown suspect entered the location and took a cell phone from a display counter. The case is currently under investigation by Santa Clarita Station detectives.
Valencia:
Last week, the following Part 1 crimes occurred in Zone 5 (Valencia)
A residential burglary occurred near the 23600 block of Mill Valley Road. A male victim fell asleep inside his dining room area of his residence. He left his rear sliding door open and his screen closed but unlocked. When he woke up he realized his wallet and his black computer bag were missing from his room. He saw his screen door was ajar, and the side gate to his residence also ajar. He also was missing his MacBook laptop.
A residential burglary occurred near the 25000 block of Magic Mountain Parkway. The victim was outside on her patio enjoying the outdoors. When the victim began to go inside she saw a male white wearing a blue collared shirt inside her residence. Once the suspect saw the victim was home, he fled the location in an unknown direction.
A Commercial Burglary occurred near the 22800 block of Copper Hill Drive. An unknown suspect entered the location by smashing a front window. They entered the location, smashed a display case, and took cell phones from inside the store.
An attempt burglary occurred near the 23300 block of Cinema Drive. Suspect(s) unknown attempted to enter the location by breaking a window. The victim was unable to identify any stolen items from inside the location.
A vehicle was stolen from the 26800 block of Avenue Hall. A 2001 Chevy Cargo Van was stolen from the location and recovered four days later in LAPD area
A grand theft occurred near the 27300 block of Deerborn Street. The victim was leaving his residence and placed his tablet on top of his car. As he left his residence he forgot about the tablet on the roof of his parked car in front of his house. When he returned his tablet was gone.
A burglary occurred near the 26400 block of Bouquet Canyon Road. A male white adult walked into the location and selected a phone off the display case. He cut the security cable and walked out of the store without paying for the selected item.
During this past week we had seven shoplifting burglaries occur at local businesses. Out of the seven incidents a total of five suspects were arrested and booked at Santa Clarita Valley Station patrol deputies.
