UPDATED 1:40pm, Thursday December 20th.

[view:node_ad=5]An evolving incident prompted the complete closure of Sierra Highway at Foothill Blvd for a large portion of Thursday morning.  A vehicle accident had knocked down power lines.

As of 1:40pm, The California Highway Patrol had stopped reporting any closures.

The accident occurred just before 7:00am Thursday morning and it involved three vehicles.

That portion of Sierra Highway is a popular detour for commuters who do not wish to take Highway 14 out of Santa Clarita.   Therefore, the impacts of this closure were very large for Santa Clarita commuters.
