Local elementary school teachers getting Pilates classes half off.

 

In an effort to promote and improve the health and wellness of our teachers in the Newhall School District, Pilates Teck is teaching mat fitness classes three days a week after school at Pico Canyon Elementary.

 

[view:node_ad=5] Pilates Teck is offering the classes to teachers at half price. According to Karina Lineback, owner of Pilates Teck, the classes focus specifically on targeting the back, where most of the teachers report having the greatest pain.

 

Ten schools have been invited to participate in the program; however, Pico is currently the only school being taught classes.

 

Efforts are being made to bring others into the new program.

 

Pilates has become a popular exercise method and it is designed to strengthen while at the same time easing pains caused by over-usage of the muscles.
