Residents in the Santa Clarita Valley might see a skeletal frame beginning to take shape as the foundation of the 132-acre business park is layed into the future location of “The Center.”

The Trammell Crow Company (TCC), along with Clarion Partners LLC, announced their plans to move forward with phase one of a 54-acre construction project that will serve as industrial and commercial space, located at Needham Ranch.
Phase one is expected to occupy just over 850,000 square feet of land, to include seven buildings for anticipated businesses looking to move into the Santa Clarita Valley.
The Center, when completed, is designed to take up a little over 4 million square feet at the Needham Ranch site.
Michael Marrone, vice president at Clarion Partners, recognized the City of Santa Clarita as a perfect area to set up shop.
“The City of Santa Clarita is rated as one of the best places in the U.S. to live, work and play with a low cost of doing business and a high quality of life, said Marrone.
The construction is taking place along Sierra Highway, south of Newhall Avenue near the intersection of I-5 and SR-14.
John Balestra, senior vice president with TCC’s Los Angeles business unit, forecasted what The Center is expected to provide for future business coming to the City of Santa Clarita.
“Given the scarcity of modern, highly functional industrial space in the greater Los Angeles north market, where the average industrial building is over 40 years old and lacks the enhanced functional utility of today’s modern industrial facilities,” Balestra said, “The Center at Needham Ranch will give small and large space users access to a premier location with immediate proximity to the San Fernando Valley and greater Southern California region.”
The City of Santa Clarita and the developer prepared the site to accompany hundreds of acres of natural open space, immediately adjacent to the project, for hiking and other outdoor activities.
The Center was designed to give access to all areas within the San Fernando Valley and greater Los Angeles County, and to include the major highways surrounding the Santa Clarita Valley.
The initial buildings in phase one are scheduled for occupancy in the first quarter of 2019 and are set to feature amenities to accommodate businesses that will be manufacturing and shipping product.

We scrape oaks and manzanita away for an industrial park when the world should be de-industrializing.
Suicidal.
So true Dave. And isn’t it ironic that it’s being built directly over a cemetery.
But it’s all right, all right
We’ve lived so well so long
Still, when I think of the road
we’re traveling on
I wonder what went wrong
I can’t help it, I wonder what’s gone wrong

I am so glad there is more building going on in SCV…. I lived in a community for 28 years that had the NIMBY (not in my backyard) mentality, and that town is struggling. Real estate suffers first then people just move away. There is so much available here in SCV, it’s easy to forget how lucky we are.
Funny you should mention that.
Every day while sitting in traffic on the
I-5 or SR 14 I think how lucky we are.
Yes, that’s exactly what I think about.
