Thieves wielding a sledgehammer smashed the front window of a store on The Old Road in Stevenson Ranch and got away with $50,000 worth of jeans.

Lt. Joseph Efflandt of the Santa Clarita Valley sheriff’s station said that the incident was reported shortly before 2 a.m. Tuesday.

Representatives of The 56 Clothing Store at 25920 The Old Road said that 172 pairs of jeans were taken in the burglary.

No suspects were seen; the incident is under investigation. Anyone with information should call the SCV sheriff’s station at 661 255-1121.
