One Person Freed, Hospitalized After Vehicle Strikes Tree In Valencia Crash

A person was transported to the hospital Friday after their vehicle struck a tree, resulting in the patient being trapped, officials said.

BREAKING: Firefighters have extricated a person after crashing into a tree on Copper Hill Drive and Medlar Drive in Valencia. KHTS reporter Devon Miller is on scene.

Around 7:40 a.m. Friday, first responders received reports of a traffic collision with possible persons trapped on Copper Hill Drive near Medlar Drive, said Franklin Lopez, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

“A vehicle struck a tree, and there was one person trapped,” Lopez said.

Crews on scene needed to have the tow truck remove the vehicle from the tree in order to free the trapped person, according to fire officials.

The tow truck arrived on scene at 8:20 a.m. and the patient was extracted from the vehicle shortly after, according to officials.

“One person was transported to the hospital,” Lopez said.

The condition of the patient is unknown as of Friday morning, according to officials.
