Big Rig Rolls Down Embankment In 5 Freeway Crash In Gorman, No Injuries

A big rig rolled down an embankment Friday morning in a 5 Freeway crash in Gorman resulting in no injuries, officials said.

Just before 8:50 a.m. Friday, first responders received reports of a rolled over big rig on the northbound 5 Freeway south of Highway 138, said Franklin Lopez, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

“Call came in as an overturned semi truck with persons possibly trapped,” Lopez said.

There were no persons trapped or injuries reported, Lopez said.

The big rig reportedly rolled down off of the freeway down the embankment, according to California Highway Patrol officials.

As of 9:15 a.m., there are no lanes blocked, according to officials.

  1. These NAFTA trucks often race through there above 80mph driving 14 hr days (they brag about it at rest areas) as the CA laws don’t seem to apply to them. I have seen so many close calls with these guys with Baja plates flying by regulated trucks doing 55-60, swerving on bad retread tires. It is amazing more of them dont crash. But anything for cheap freight right?……

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
