Motorcyclist Who Died In Sylmar Crash Identified

The motorcyclist who died after they crashed into a vehicle that was involved in a separate collision early Sunday morning on the 210 Freeway in Sylmar has been identified.

Brandon Moore, 39, from Pasadena was the motorcyclist who died in the crash, said Kelly Vail, spokesperson with the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office.

At 12:35 a.m. Sunday, California Highway Patrol (CHP) Newhall Area received reports of a traffic crash on the westbound 210 Freeway at Yarnell Street in Sylmar, said Officer Carlos Burgos-Lopez, spokesperson for the CHP Newhall Area Office in a previous KHTS article.

“As units responded to the location, a second crash occurred involving a motorcycle which subsequently struck one of the previously crashed vehicles,” Burgos-Lopez said.

Moore was pronounced deceased at the scene by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics.

“This is a heartbreaking loss, and our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of the rider during this incredibly difficult time. We urge all motorists — drivers and riders alike to stay vigilant, obey traffic laws, and make safety a top priority. Every life on our roadways matters,” Captain Ed Krusey, with the CHP Newhall Area.

The crash remains under investigation by the CHP Newhall Area Office.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
