One Dead In Fatal Canyon Country Crash Involving Trash Truck

One person is dead after a traffic collision Friday involving a trash truck on Soledad Canyon Road in Canyon Country.

At about 7:59 a.m. Friday, emergency responders received reports of a traffic collision on the 17900 block of Soledad Canyon Road near Galeton Avenue in Canyon Country, according to Kaitlyn Aldana, spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACoFD)

“It was a traffic collision with possible patients trapped,” Aldana said.

Witnesses at the scene reported that a car with at least two occupants had become partially lodged beneath a trash truck.

At least one person was extricated from the vehicle and transported to a local hospital. Another occupant of the vehicle was declared dead on arrival, according to officials at the scene.

The identity of the person killed in the crash is unavailable to the media as of Friday morning.
