Shortly before 5 a.m. Sunday, a silver Lexus sedan was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of the 14 Freeway, approaching Agua Dulce Canyon Road — the wrong way, according to a CHP news release.
“A white Toyota pickup was traveling N/B on SR-14, within the HOV lane, north of Agua Dulce Canyon Road, ahead of the silver Lexus,” reads the release. “The driver of the Lexus collided into the front of the Toyota.”
As a result of the collision, the driver of the Toyota sustained major injuries. The passenger of the Toyota sustained moderate injuries.
George F. Bravo, 28, of Los Angeles, succumbed to his injuries on scene, according to CHP.
Phillip Ellyson, 51, of Canyon Country and his 17-year-old unidentified passenger were transported to a local hospital.
All lanes of Highway 14 were previously shut down at Agua Dulce Canyon Road for five hours, according to the California Highway Patrol.
This collision is under investigation by the California Highway Patrol’s (CHP) Newhall Area Office. Any witnesses are encouraged to contact the CHP’s Newhall office at (661) 294-5540

I believe this is not the first one. Maybe CALTRANS can re visit the signage so even a drunk can figure it out. It is a confusing transition, maybe its worth look.
Totally agree. I drove by, where I believe they said the wrong way driver entered, today and if the driver was on Escondido Cyn coming from Agua Dulce it is hard to see the Do not enter sign! Absolutely awful.
There is no transition there and maybe the drunks just need to stop drinking and getting behind the wheel!
