One person was transported to the hospital Wednesday evening after a 5 Freeway crash involving a semi-truck north of Castaic.
Just before 5 p.m. Wednesday, emergency responders received reports of a traffic collision involving a semi-truck and another vehicle on the northbound 5 Freeway near the Lower Crossover just north of Castaic, according to Dispatch Supervisor Bernard Peters with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
“There was a transport and a gas line spillage. People are being sent to clean it up,” Peters said.
At least 20 gallons of diesel fuel was spilled near the center divider chrome the “Military Truck” involved in the collision, according to California Highway Patrol (CHP) incident logs.
Hazmat teams were called to the scene to handle the spillage, according to Fire officials.
