A semi-truck went off the southbound 5 Freeway in a crash near Templin Highway north of Castaic Monday morning, closing two lanes.

The 5 Freeway crash was reported at approximately 8:21 a.m. Monday, involving a semi-truck that went off the side of the road just north of Templin Highway, north of Castaic, according to Fred Fielding, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

“Confirmed vehicle over the side with no persons trapped. Patient self-extricated,” Fielding said.

No major injuries were reported, according to Fielding.

The No. 3 and 4 lanes of the southbound 5 Freeway were closed in the area of the incident to allow space for emergency responders and keep computers away from sections with damaged guardrails.

There is no information available as to when the lanes will be reopened for travel.
