Just before 9 a.m. Saturday, first responders received reports of a solo crash on Magic Mountain Pkwy. in Valencia, just west of Bouquet Canyon Road.

When they arrived on scene, officials learned that a Shelby Cobra kit car had somehow lost control and hit a nearby street light, spinning out into the road, according to officials on scene.

The Cobra had sustained significant damage to the front of the vehicle, and was still leaking an unknown liquid as it was towed away, according to witnesses on scene.

Two men were transported to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the crash, officials on scene said.

Deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station shut down both westbound lanes on Magic Mountain Pkwy. between Bouquet Canyon Rd. and Valencia Boulevard as officials worked to clear the wreckage.

The exact cause of the crash is currently unknown.
