A vehicle overturned and caught fire on Friday after they were reportedly racing a motorcycle prior to the crash.

Around 3:30 p.m. Friday, first responders received reports of a traffic collision on the northbound 5 Freeway north of Calgrove Boulevard in Newhall, according to officials with the California Highway Patrol (CHP) logs.

A sedan overturned and caught fire, according to CHP officials.

Prior to the crash, the sedan was racing a motorcycle before the collision occurred, according to the CHP logs.

At least one person sustained burns from the crash, according to officials.

One person was transported to the hospital with unknown injuries. All northbound lanes of the 5 Freeway were briefly blocked as crews worked to clear the wreckage.
