Just after 11:00 a.m. Thursday morning a Saugus resident on Nickie Lane witnessed two young men knock on the front door of a home, and then enter the backyard.
He then contacted Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies, who responded to the neighborhood and set up a containment.
Two suspects matching the neighbor’s description were found and detained on Rodgers Dr., near where the suspicious activity was reported. A search of one suspect’s backpack revealed a Sony Playstation, digital camera and alcohol, later found to be taken from the home.
The two suspects, both 17 years old, were booked at the Santa Clarita station in suspicion of felony burglary and misdemeanor minor in possession of alcohol.
According to Sheriff’s Sergeant Darren Harris, the suspects gained entry to the home through an unlocked back door.
