The Velocity Sports Performance 5K Charity Run and Walk and Fitness Expo will be taking place from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 16th at the College of the Canyons football stadium in Valencia.

The race costs $25 if you register online ahead of time, and is $30 on the day of the event. Runners can pick up their information packets on Saturday, June 15th from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Velocity Sports Performance on Constellation Road. It is highly encouraged that the Velocity 5K runners update their profile with their age, gender, and shirt size information as well.

Everyone is encouraged to sign up and participate in this charity event, with the proceeds benefiting the Challenged Athletes Foundation as well as the College of the Canyons track and field team.

The Challenged Athletes Foundation strives to ensure that people with physical challenges have the same freedom to enjoy sports as everyone else. Funds are raised to sponsor athletes with various kinds of physical disabilities.  The company believes all people should be involved in sports because it increases a person’s self-esteem, builds their independence, and ultimately improves their quality of life.

Disabled athletes are supported by the Velocity 5K run, with the funds primarily helping the Challenged Athletes Foundation.

Velocity Sports Performance uses 30 years of science and developmental techniques to coach, educate, and train athletes.
